mz Markup Language

Other names: mzML

mzML was formed to amalgamate two formats for encoding raw spectrometer data; mzData developed by the PSI, and, mzXML developed at the Seattle Proteome Center at the Institute for Systems Biology. The PSI, with full participation by the ISB, developed the new format by taking the best aspects of each of the precursors to form a single, less confusing, format.
