ProRule

The ProRule database is a new section of PROSITE, which contains additional information about profiles. ProRule provides position specific-information about functionally and structurally relevant residues found in PROSITE profiles, as well as specific information in the Swiss-Prot format using standardized nomenclature and controlled vocabularies. The combination of the high sensitivity and full-length coverage of profiles with the position-specific information, like the one derived from patterns, should help in function determination and, together with the specific information, in the annotation of the UniProt Swiss-Prot knowledgebase by making it more homogeneous and consistent.
