Amino Acid Ontology

Other names: AMINO-ACID

Amino Acid Ontology is an ontology of amino acids and their properties. It captures how biochemists talk about amino acids; that is, it is a conceptualisation of amino acids. This ontology smoothens out the way in which amino acids are described as the chemical reality tends to obscure rather than reveal what may be considered important features of amino acids. This ontology serves as a demonstration of a move towards a sort of mass production of axiomatically rich ontologies.
